If today’s announcement that Game of Thrones’ David Benioff and D.B Weiss are creating a series of Star Wars films heralded insufficient new Star Wars projects for you personally, we’ve got SWTOR Credits great news: there is extra.
In an earnings contact now, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that the studio is “developing not just a single, but a few Star Wars series especially for the Disney direct to customer app” – and we’re close to hearing who’s behind at the least certainly one of them.
“We’ve mentioned that and we are close to being able to reveal a minimum of on the list of entities that’s building that for us. Because the deal isn’t totally closed, we can’t be particular about that,” he said. “I assume you will find the degree of talent on the tv front are going to be rather considerable also.” Perhaps Bryan Fuller has located a different project to pull out of!
The series will be developed specifically for Disney’s incoming in-house content streaming service and app launching in late 2019 – and themselves represent a mere sliver on the material within the works for the service. It is not clear whether all of the series will likely be live-action, but a minimum of certainly one of them might be, setting it aside from pre-existing series The Clone Wars and Rebels.
Iger also explained a bit a lot more about Benioff and Weiss’ film series. The duo had been solely serious about functioning on feature films, he stated, with no television series proposed in their apparently lengthy talks. Their big-screen series – referred to by Iger as “a variety of films” and by the Hollywood Reporter as a trilogy – will focus on “a point in time within the Star Wars mythology,” which although about as vague a statement as 1 could make, all but confirms the films might be narratively disconnected in the major Skywalker saga (as opposed to Rogue 1 and Solo, which feed straight into it). Fans will probably shout “Old Republic” or “Mandalorian Wars” or God help me, “Darth Plagueis,” but hopefully there’s anything far more original inside the works.
THR also notes that Benioff and Weiss’ Star Wars commitments clash directly with their proposed Confederate series for HBO. Provided the massive public backlash against that show’s extremely notion, it’s plausible it may have already been straight-up cancelled. That is unconfirmed, obviously, but I know loads of men and women who’d be pleased if it was.
What would you like to buy SWTOR credits see a new Star Wars series about? Statistically speaking, you have got a few probabilities to have it right.
